"Justice and Inclusion Toolkits" Workshop

We are developing a series of workshops to embellish and understand the activities and resources provided in our new resource the "Justice and Inclusion Toolkits: for young children and their adults"

"Foundations of Anti-Bias Education" Level One Certificate - 14 training hours

Seven two-hour online workshops include:

1.) Introduction to Anti-Bias Education

2.) Talking with Children about Skin Color and Race

3.) Inclusion and Disabilities Justice

4.) Gender Identity

5.) Culture and Language

6.) Family Structure

7.) Economic Class

These workshops will be affordable and easily accessed and will include our Justice and Inclusion Toolkit for no additional fee. Workshops will begin to roll out on our website by Summer and Fall of 2022.

Due to the pandemic, we have not been able to offer our popular Anti-Bias Leadership Seminar for two years. We hope to offer it again in the future and if you are interested please let us know.

Anti-Bias Leadership Seminar

Saturday, August 25 from 12pm-8 pm & Sunday, August 26th from 10 am-6:30 pm (applicants must attend both days)

At Augustana Lutheran Church, 2710 NE 14th Ave, Portland, OR 97212

This comprehensive seminar will provide participants with an in-depth foundation for anti-bias/anti-oppression work in an early childhood context. We will first look at ourselves & then move to strategies for implementation in our work with students, staff & families. Early childhood  

educators & administrators are invited to attend.  The seminar content includes: 

• In-depth examination of core social identity areas & how each of us is impacted by our position of privilege or target.  

• Experimentation with a variety of cultural expressions (visual arts, theatre, slam poetry,  song, and dance) & how to integrate these into our teaching practice. 

• Exploration of leadership models & practices that challenge white supremacy.
