WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO JOIN THE THREADS OF JUSTICE COLLECTIVE?

We are not a membership organization.  There are no dues or membership fees.  Joining the collective means:

  • You will be among the first to hear about upcoming events, workshop opportunities;

  • You will have notice of and access to all new TOJC Resources and at times discounts on resources for sale;

  • You will receive invites for special projects and Circle activities as well as opportunities to volunteer in a variety of ways;

  • You will have everyday access to spaces where you can connect and build solidarity with others who also care deeply about justice and inclusion in the lives of young children.

2026 EMERGING FACILITATOR'S COHORT

The Emerging Facilitators Project is an effort by the Threads of Justice Collective to identify and support emerging leaders in the field of anti-bias/anti-oppression education for young children, their families, communities and educators.  Our objective is to build membership in the TOJC Facilitation Circle (pool of available facilitators) with priority on BIPOC and participants from other marginalized communities.  The EF Project supports the development of these skills for participants:

  • Facilitation of caucus or affinity group work and process

  • Working from the lens of trauma-informed approach

  • Discovery and reflection on understanding one’s own and others’ social identity in the context of anti-bias/anti-oppression socialization

  • Understanding and explaining dynamics of oppression

  • Ability to lead others in cultural work/creative expressions that explore topics of identity and human liberation

  • Guiding/facilitating the development of plans for collective and organizational action and change

  • Ongoing effort to give and receive feedback

CIRCLES

At Threads of Justice Collective, we work hard to operate in a non-hierarchical, shared leadership model.  We have a governing board that works together to move forward our mission and vision for addressing oppression in all its forms in the lives of young children, their families, and their care and education communities.  In addition to our working Board, we are launching 6 activity Circles where people will be engaging with us in a variety of efforts:

  • Project Development - this Circle will work on existing and upcoming or future projects including developing new resources, events and workshops.

  • Accessibility- this Circle will develop, implement and coordinate a plan for increasing accessibility and inclusion for all TOJC practices and programming including language and disabilities access and accommodations.

  • Donors - this Circle will work to grow and nurture TOJC donors and volunteers.

  • Content Development- this Circle will focus on developing content including writing and graphics for TOJC social media, pr, marketing and website presence.
