Pro-Justice Parenting - Session 5 (Audio)
Pro-Justice Parenting is a compelling invitation to strengthen a family way of being that joins the long legacy of those who have struggled to create a more just world. The ideas outlined here can be a jumping off point for your own convictions and passions about changing the world for our children and future generations. This work is not just about noticing and celebrating our human similarities and differences, it is about recognizing, addressing and working to change things that are unjust in our society. It is about supporting children to build the understandings and skills to notice bias and unfair things, to be able to name what they see, and to feel empowered to act. It is about acknowledging that the existence of bias and prejudice negatively impacts ALL of us and ALL of our children.
Dive deeply into the work of helping children understand that fairness and justice for all people matters. And that they stand in a long line of people who have struggled against injustice.
This self-paced, 10-week session can be done as a part of a cohort, or independently - materials can be read or listened to.
Participation is FREE
Please note: As you work your way through the Pro-Justice-Parenting materials, explore the Threads of Justice Collective website for additional resources, including our Justice and Inclusion Toolkit, which has extensive information and references for children’s books related to each social identity area.
