Theresa Starreveld
Theresa Starreveld (She/They) brings a deep commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) to her role on the Threads of Justice Board of Directors. She has a strong Waldorf education background, attending Waldorf schools from K-8 and high school. And later taught mixed-age preschool/kindergarten and worked as a handwork teacher for 3rd through 5th grades at a local Waldorf school.
Currently, Theresa serves as an administrator and JEDI leader at a local nonprofit preschool, where she co-founded and leads the school’s JEDI committee. She believes that justice must be at the forefront of any pursuit of inclusion and equity. Passionate about anti-bias and anti-racism work, she is dedicated to creating inclusive, affirming, and culturally responsive environments for children, families, and educators. She values the power of collaborative leadership and community-driven change.
Theresa lives in Milwaukie with her husband and two children (ages 5 and 8). In her free time, she enjoys rewatching her favorite TV shows, listening to audiobooks, cooking, baking, sewing, knitting, beading, and exploring any applied arts she can get her hands on.
