September 14, 10 am - 1 pm with optional 1 pm - 2 pm community building and (bring your own) picnic.

This gathering will focus on topics honoring Hadiyah’s legacy (ranging from topics like rights of children to issues facing the field - like suspension and expulsion). We will have an opening panel discussion followed by one set of 90 minute sessions (Session descriptions below).

If you are interested in having a networking table for your group or organization at the event please reach out here .

Session proposals are now closed, thank you for your interest.

  • Women of Color Series: The Impact of Being Hypervisible & Invisible on the Mind Body & Spirit- Ty Morris
Participants will explore the dual impacts of hypervisibility and invisibility on Women of Color, focusing on psychological, physical, and spiritual effects. It provides coping strategies, encourages self-care, and fosters community support through discussions, activities, and guided reflections, aiming to empower and promote healing among participants.

  • Caucus/Affinity Groups as a Tool in Anti-Oppression Work - Katie Kissinger
In this workshop we will discuss these questions: "what is caucus work, what are some of the pitfalls and strategies for using and most critical, why is it important in anti-oppression work"?

  • Building Anti-Racist Learning Spaces & Anti-Bias Leadership Seminar Reunion - Grace Bounds
Have you participated in a Building Anti-Racist Learning Spaces workshop series or Anti-Bias Leadership Seminar? Join other participants in reflecting on where your anti-bias work and leadership is now. How have these courses impacted your practice in your contexts or leadership?

  • Navigating the upcoming election together: using anti-bias practice to support children, families, and one another through uncertain and divisive times - Melissa Van Bergen
In this discussion based workshop participants will reflect on their own learning contexts and reflect together on strengths, worries, and points of tension as we approach the upcoming election. We will collaboratively compile tools, resources, and strategies rooted in an anti-bias/anti-oppression/anti-racist approach to meaningfully support children, families, and one another.
